Usually this doesn't work on minivans, and we love this feature. It was actually one of the things that sold us on this van. The Air Conditioning works great, the stereo works great, and there are a good amount of cup holders. We love that we can take all the seats out easily if we have to haul things.
Overall, the price was great, too. There are very few things I dislike about this van. The only two that I can think of are that the trunk space is not great if all the seats are up and that the air conditioning doesn't go all the way in the rear, which kind of sucks when it's hot out and you have kids in the back seats. They have to open all the windows which ruins the efficiency of the air conditioning in the front, and therefore the gas mileage, but really that's it.
I love this van and feel that we made an excellent choice in purchasing it. Overall 3. I like the size and style of the Mazda MPV.
My family fit very well in it. The third row seating came in handy many times. The cargo space was great for hauling sports gear and camping equipment. It was never easy for me to transform the back from seating to cargo space. The headrests had to be removed, and they didn't come out easily.
There were two different handles to pull to get the seat to fold over then drop down into the space. I can't even remember exactly what it took to put the seats back up. The seats were very comfortable. Some of the most comfortable car seats I can remember.
The visibility was good with lots of big windows. The MPV was used when we got it and needed catch-up maintenance, including power steering flush, transmission flush, alignment, windshield The MPV was used when we got it and needed catch-up maintenance, including power steering flush, transmission flush, alignment, windshield wipers. Not long after we got it the alternator needed to be replaced.
There was a problem with the electrical system causing fuses to blow and systems radio, power locks, charger to stop working.
I wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if it had been better maintained before we got it. I still liked it a lot. We spent one pouring-down rain night at a campground that was already muddy and soaked from previous rains.
The ground and tent bottom were soaked so we all slept in the MPV. I like the size and shape of the MPV. It looks good. Not showy but simple and nice. The space inside was just right for my family. Take the rust on the rear tailgate. It looks pretty crusty here:. But after a bit of sanding, spot-filler putty, and some more sanding, it started to look better, and even the family got in on the fun:.
Jamie sanded and cut the rust away, slapped on a fender flare from a Pontiac Vibe, and painted it to match. The result is wonderful:. Jamie hopes to keep the MPV forever.
From the way the mechanically-perfect van drives, to the comfortable leather interior, to the cool flip-back rear bench, to the sunroof, to the power sliding doors, to the TV screens Jamie installed in the seat-backs for his two children. He says the MPV has everything he can want in a minivan, I can totally see why.
It feels modern. It is a high mileage hero. So many great things to say about this, obviously brilliant father with good judgment:. The A. High-Mileage Heroes.
