What is xvid ac3

I feel like if i ripped all the codecs, filters and associated registry entries out it might fix the problem, but I have no idea how to do this. Any ideas? Sid59 Lifer. England and Wales company registration number BUT, there is a BUT… apparently even if those players are playing the files generated by DVDFab without issues, some players that are not so tolerant displayed and showed us that the audio info is not written correctly in the xvid file.

I have installed KMplayer on another laptop Vista as well and tried reading the same files give me the same error. Then it has nothing to do with my codec installation. If we wrote in this forum is to help the DVDFab guys to improve their tool and to give them feedback on potential errors. I have just produced this file using the Generic. Firstly, I analysed the file with two analysis tools that I use all the time to check on inconsistencies.

They are GSpot and MediaInfo. Here are the results All play perfectly with 5. So are you suggesting to me that because KMPlayer will not play your file, this analysis is wrong and there is something wrong with all these players. To be quite honest, I have never heard of nor tried KMPlayer and I think a lot of other users would be in the same boat. I cannot see DVD Fab allocating resources to investigate a problem in a software player that may be non-compliant in the first place.

I have tested xvid. So actually, I am using KMPlayer and nerver installed any other media player or codecs pack. So as a registered user of 2 lics , I hope you will find a solution at least for subtitles and wmv.

I think this problem is the same as the one here. AC3Filter, Spdifer or ffdshow. I am a bit off quality freak. Movies recorded in digital format obviously wont have grain however its up to the director how they want their movie to "feel" and quite often digitally add grain. As for your question, xvid is an inferior codec. I disregarded XviD as a codec of choice a long time ago. Last edited: 11 Sep Always use x codec over xvid for your own conversion.

If you are seriously a "quality freak" then you have a lot to learn I'm guessing that a "quality freak" would prefer to watch a movie without the artifacts that are likely to be present from xvid encodes.

Whether p xvid or p x is preferred is down to personal preference. Some people are more bothered by stuff like macroblocking than others.
