It is on youtube now. Do not misunderstand , I am not saying it is properly implemented, I was just trying to clear that it is no longer simply datamined. Talking about the specific content of the cinematic while we are discussing how much of a spoiler it is is a dick move. Since we are talking about timing… no.
Blizzard has released their cinematics as soon as they are able to be datamined at least since WoD. But if they are part of a quest chain we would never assume that they already happened then. The BfA cinematics regarding Jaina for example happened at quite specific points in her quesline, but you could already watch them online. And cinematics that use the ingame models, like this one, are usually part of the ingame content.
But one of the most enigmatic groups of mysterious figures was a question mark in history. Their presence, however, could not be ignored. High General Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner were absent, their location a mystery.
Many players wondered: Where was Turalyon? In Legion , we finally have our answer. But why is Turalyon so important — why were people so fascinated with finding him in the first place?
For that, we have to go back to the Second War. Turalyon was originally a Priest — and he was hand-picked by Alonsus Faol to become one of the first five Knights of the Silver Hand. He was in incredibly auspicious company. And when Anduin Lothar chose Turalyon to be his lieutenant, he was even more baffled. Why, when presented with a choice of much more notable names, would Lothar choose him? But there was something about Turalyon that Lothar liked.
He had faith, but not the blinding zeal that the others possessed. He was more relatable — he was the type of man that could lead.
Young, yes, but loyal, and possessing the kind of agile mind needed for quick thinking and problem solving. He had little experience, but he was willing to work all the harder for it. Turalyon bonded with Khadgar almost immediately. The two quickly formed a close friendship, and Turalyon often turned to Khadgar for advice and support. Although he may have been uncertain to begin with, Turalyon quickly picked up the intricacies of war, leading several successful battles.
With each battle, he gained more confidence. Despite seeming victory at one point, the Horde was soon on the run, with the Alliance on their heels the entire way — all the way to Blackrock Mountain. There, the Horde turned and struck, taking the Alliance by surprise.
Doomhammer, the leader of the Horde, deliberately sought out Lothar. He thought that killing the Alliance leader would deflate the troops and ultimately win the war for the Horde. The Horde was triumphant. Or they would have been, were it not for Turalyon. Between one moment and the next he knocked Doomhammer unconscious, to be taken to Capital City and judged for his crimes.
It was an utter rout. The Orcs died, surrendered, or outright fled, and the Alliance stood triumphant. In the aftermath, Turalyon stepped up to lead the Alliance forces. Nobody protested — Turalyon had more than earned the position, and it was what Lothar would have wanted.
High Exarch Turalyon says: Talgath's last words Not even the Light can escape. What did he mean? Prophet Velen says: The darkness that lingers in the temple High Exarch Turalyon says: Impossible. She is a naaru! A being of the Light! Prophet Velen says: There is much Xe'ra did not want you to know. At long last, the war is over. Part of me never expected to survive to see this day. So many battles. So much loss. My old life is long past. It is time to build a new one, and get to know the son who embodies everything I fought for.
You have seen what my people are capable of firsthand. We have been forged over millennia as specialists against the Legion. Now, I believe it is time to take up arms alongside our brothers and sisters of the Alliance. Join us at the Vindicaar. I believe we have much to discuss with Captain Fareeya. Captain Fareeya says: I did not expect you back so soon, High Exarch.
I assume your meeting with the king went well? High Exarch Turalyon says: Indeed. He is eager to have the Army of the Light fighting on the side of the Alliance.
Assemble our forces, captain, and I will make the announcement. Captain Fareeya says: You know how fond I am of your speeches, but can't it wait? We were just about to send these initiates to undertake the trials.
High Exarch Turalyon says: Ah, this is excellent timing, champion. You can see firsthand what it means for a soldier to become Lightforged. Proceed, Fareeya. High Exarch Turalyon: My dear wife Alleria may be lost, but my son is still in there. I know he lives, I can feel it.
Let us do this one last thing together. Let us find him, and free him. Corrupted Alleria Windrunner: Oh Bravo, well done my husband. High Exarch Turalyon: You are not my wife, you are a monster! Corrupted Alleria Windrunner: Tsk tsk, is that any way to talk to the mother of your child? High Exarch Turalyon: Arator! Where is he?
Corrupted Alleria Windrunner: Come inside the Cathedral, we will be waiting for you my dear. High Exarch Turalyon: Go, disrupt whatever evil is happening in Stormwind. Once I recover, I will meet you at the Cathedral and we will free my son together. Alleria Windrunner says: Perhaps these statues remind me of a… simpler time. High Exarch Turalyon says: So much has happened since our return to Azeroth. We both do.
But I expected to be fighting with two sisters at my side. Instead, I faced one of them in battle--or at least, what remains of her. Alleria Windrunner says: The whispers did not end with his defeat.
